Count me in. Your free videos alone are worth more than almost any "training" material I've ever bought.

And this one was no different. This concept seems so simple, but I don't know anybody that really does it.

I'm making my list right now. Thanks again and please keep 'em coming.

Hey Eben,
What do you suppose I could do to get better exposure for my site and idea?

Anonymous said...

Excellent . Fantastic ! That was very neat and cool.

Infact i want to tell you that i was able to get close to five figures in less than 2 hours (the product was around $197 each) by implementing your idea and adding a a mastermind group workshop to the existing product which we had .

So that was very nice. Great stuff Eben. This is the website www.spiritual-simplicity.com and my email id is vish@vish-writer.com

Interesting concept - start a survey with a video. I like it.

And the feedback you get will tell you whether that should be one of your next products, so it's a well targeted video question.

There's no doubt that keeping successful company is essential if you truly want to be successful. It's one of the main tenets of "Think and Grow Rich" of course.

The unfortunate thing is that if you keep company with people who aren't achieving, it will rub off.

Hi Eben,

Let me start by saying that I am realy disappointed that I couldn't be there due to a prior family commitment!

I only recently learned the art of delegating, but I'm still trying to figure out the art of finding the RIGHT people to delegate to (or even better, have on my team doing even more delegating!)

I would certainly be interested in a mastermind group of other highly successful individuals.

Great work Eben! I am an attendee of altitude and would love a coaching/mastermind program...now go to bed already!

Hi Eban,

I think it would be worthwhile as long as you are personally involved.

Many coaching programs use a generic coaching service or coaching assistants and I don't think they are effective as having the primary person running/driving it.

Thanks for the great info,

Dear Eben, building a "mastermind" group is obviously a key to success in any area of life, but what do you do when you are based in a part of the world, where the people you need are just not around, US teleconferences are at unsocial hours, seminars like "Altitude" are on the other side of the ocean, and cost a whole years' worth of average salary just to attend, not forgetting another half a year of hard labour to afford the flight ticket?
I suppose the obvious answer would be to move to the US and build a "mastermind" group there, but obviously for the majority of forward thinkers that's not an option legally.
Besides in these forgotten corners of the globe, we need people here to lead the way, educate and inspire other to success, and the market opportunities are massive.
I just wanted to know your thoughts on this. However, I wish you all the best at "altitude" and in all the other areas of your life where you're leading the way.

to your success,

Daniel Shaw

Creating a mastermind group is a great idea. It's funny, I started a mastermind group with my two business colleagues and we'd love to join a larger more diverse group.

I think it would be helpful if you had multiple levels of involvement.

Meet Ups: The first level would be networking with other entrepreneurs who are interested in the altitude material, maybe like an online forum or monthly meet up groups in major cities. This can be hosted by your company and you charge a monthly/yearly fee. You can provide guest speakers or small workshops, but there is no personal coaching.

Boot Camp: The second level could be a more intimate and hands-on approach like you mentioned in the video. Your team would actually come and get into the nitty gritty with a company or with a select few companies to actually coach each particular business. The fees would be much higher due to the high quality coaching.

Thanks for the video, Cheers.

I'm really interested. I have spent several thousand dollars trying to buy some direction from experts. Unfortunately, their paths do not really match mine. I've found myself receiving heaps of email which merely seems to demonstrate an insider club where experienced marketers are able to leverage their common ground to make lots of offers which it looks like they are affiliates for.

I need a mastermind group to work with. Yes, I have some ideas, few of which are probably doable or buzzworthy, but I need access to people like you so I can actually bounce them.

Thanks

Steve

Great video - thanks for all the free tips.

We're based in Australia and would be interested in both of these options:

1) DVD recordings of the Altitude workshop.
2) A mentoring program to build our business.

Note: We're a dating advice company, about to record our first DVD product.

Hi Eben, I am very inspired listening and watching your videos. It has been a desire for me ever since I read think and grow rich about 5 years back to have a master mind group. My problem is I have not had the funds to pay such people so I have done by with videos such as your one today. Its still a desire and I will strive to pull a group together as I can afford to. I do know the people I want and they don't come cheap. thank you for the teachings

I would definately go for a training program and even more so would like to build on this "mastermind group" technique.

Im also an idea's person and my biggest problem through the years has been having the right channels to make those ideas manifest.

Could we create some kind of networking system where people could log in and help each other out with things freely or for payment ? Its a great idea and it just needs the technical know how to make it work !

Anonymous said...

Yes Eben, I would most benefit from a one on one mentoring program from a seasoned internet marketing expert, that would partner with me to actualize my ideas and talents in the health and supplement business, into a very profitable venture for both of us!

Anonymous said...

Hi Eben, just found the "real you" and have really found great value in your videos on altitude.com etc.

You know what would be great is if you and your team built a "Training Grounds" where us students could pursue wealth tracks under the watchful of mentors like yourself in step by step progression to mastery.

So much of what is offered is "one and done" books/software that just dont seem to allow people to make the necessary progress in their development.

Yeah, a Training Ground with at least 4-7 different wealth tracks would be great.

Please do keep me posted on your plans for this mastermind group, as our group has desolved because of members moving away and other reasons.

Also, your videos contain what I believe is some of the most useful business information I have seen anywhere on the net. You tell it like it is. Well done!

Yeah Eben - Mastermind networks are a natural next step. Go for it!

My experience with Mastermind groups is more of the Collective Consciousness visioneering - sort of a holographic illumination of some broader vision we could intuit alone, but impossible to hold or see all together without the group-mind.

What I like about your version is that you get people involved for Implementation purposes - not just Vision and Strategy ideas. More of a "Million-Dollar Rolodex" but clearly valuable.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ever thought about how you could start giving this away to Mankind? (Like Carnegie)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Can you envision young masterminds purposefully guided by world-class mentors like yourself... maybe give the next generation a leg up on solving some of the world's real problems.

You're certainly in a position to set up a social networking site that fosters Mentoring Pyramids, supplementing conventional education with a more organic, accountable and experiential process. Any inclination?

Cheers,

Craig

PS - With all your references to Deida, Wilber, et al... I'd put you on top of my list (along with Mark Joyner & Malcolm Gladwell) to mastermind with on bringing "Enlightened Education" to the next generation - plant the seeds of right-thinking early on, see how quickly we can free a critical mass of healthy, conscious young adults from the financial Matrix, instilled with a Global Worldview and deep Moral Intuition... sound like fun?

PPS - Whatever you do, keep up the great work. You're an inspiration in every facet of what you bring to the world.

Hi Eben; Thanks for your idea. Never heard it said so well.
1. Yes, this 8 minute business advice listen is valuable time spent. Thank you. I took notes and proceeded with the suggestions and plan to continue to see how far I can take this. I know that not doing this was the biggest weakness of my past endeavors even though I had some successes.

2. I believe you could do an excellent job - create an excellent coaching, coach training or business building network of coaches.
I would like to read or hear your ideas on this or anything related.
One thing I like about listening to your talks is that your quick understanding takes you right to the heart of the matter which results in valuable ideas proceeding from that.
My area of experience and one I desire to improve my results in is not just network marketing which at one time I was good at, but network marketing training. Like to be a great coach myself, teaching others how to at least be teachers/trainers in home business marketing but many of them coaches as well.
But, though there are many with some of these skills there is a huge vacuum in this area that almost no one sees and that is the area of greatest need I wish to address myself to. In fact, when I try to explain it, successful marketers look past what I said and move on as if nothing was said because what I see as missing is too basic to be considered important.
I have before ever thinking of the word coach, put my belief in three different people, one by one, and helped them get started then up and going into a path of success so that they are each very successful now. I kind of know what I did for them and also know times have changed and to be as effective and quickly more effective than ever, there are skills I need to learn so I can transfer the knowledge, skills and confidence to others that will assuredly take them to success; on their own power and with the certainty that through these skills they control their own destiny.
To me, to have dozens then hundreds then thousands behind me who have reached that place in life is the reward I desire for myself.

Thanks,
Michael Shelley

hello eben,

It is totally the same strategy that I am trying to implement in my business, I am trying to expand my business with "core brain team", however, it is not that easy to find success-oriented and action-taking people to boost the operations. I am having difficulty making those people "move forward", think business oriented, maybe it is my fault to push them to be a part of the game, and therefore they discourage me sometimes.

I am not ready to take it yet, but I believe that a coaching program would be just what I would be able to use on a daily basis (not as ofter every day though:-) just when I need it, for what I need and move on to the next step... that is what I suggest.

Ben

Thanks for great tip
I'm actually executing these things intuitively - building a team, starting contacts, sharing my knowledge with like-minded people.

For now this is sort of very limited set of people (2 for now).
However I plan to build some team by simply sharing my knowledge via short videos.

I live in Ukraine and there are no videos like you do at all, no this knowledge.
I'd like to support you that such thing is multiculture and applicable in our culture also.

I'm more then interested in creating/participating in sharing group like this.

Yet to completely realize the value of your suggestions.

Hi!
I'll try to be as short as I can. Eben, your work changed my life couple of times.

Now I'm a person who is constantly improving myself and the people around me.(Dating Success knowledge included)

The best thing is I find the most fulfillment in the process of doing so, instead of the money I gain.

I've started to build my mastermind group. I'm a software engeneer. This is my main area of work. And I'm a total geek I love my field and I constantly strive to make better solutions with the knowlege I gain.

Rigth now I'm developing a web based framework which will make the process of builing a business logic a lot easier. But I'm a noob if I could use this term in marketing and selling.

So these will be my main areas which I'll need help in.

Again thanks for the great work you do.

Your fan,
Alex

I am often a part of someone's mastermind group. They call me with all bunch of "google it" questions. I hate them.
Next problem is that they call sometimes with projects (something that can't be done with one phone call). That's where the problem starts. They treat it like "google it" question but when it comes to pay for this they are last to do it and friendship/MMgroup is undermined.
So conclusion is that it's not so easy as you say.

Anonymous said...

Your videos alone are worth gold to me. Sometimes, technical aspects of the business don't really matter that much, it's more of how to be resourceful, and knowing where to get the best advice/answers.

Nobody can be good at all aspects. Mastermind groups are definitely important. We could also easily contribute our strengths to help those in the dark. The environment would be really healthy and motivating.

Definitely wanted to implement this concept, but unfortunately don't see anyone around here in my country, I do know persons (like you and rich) who can super charge my energy level and take me to the next level and I desperately wanted to have them in my group, but I can't afford to have them they are tooo expensive for me!.

Despite having my own software product and a website, I am unable to make more then 500$ a month since a year or so, I am unable to increase sale due to the lack of good amount of traffic and a good sales copy.

I think the biggest challenge of today’s entrepreneur (specially those who are living outside US ) is not having master mind group around them who can push them when they stuck up somewhere in there business, with whom they can ask their toughest (may be silliest for experts) questions, take directions, refine their ideas etc etc… but having that group is way to expensive!.

What do you suggest for persons like me?

Anonymous said...

Hi Eben,

Thanks for your mastermind tip.

I wholeheartedly agree of the need to invest in a mastermind group - with time and money.

However, I'd like to a useful distinction between a physical mastermind group and a MENTAL mastermind group ...

The physical mastermind group is one where members do communicate in the real world - face-to-face or via telephone/the Internet.

These are great but do have limits around people's availability, time and money.

In contrast, a MENTAL mastermind group is a useful concept that Napoleon Hill details in his book Think and Grow Rich.

Here you select ANYONE who could be useful to your purpose - even if they are alive or dead!

You then create a MENTAL mastermind where you can draw on their ideas - at ANYTIME.

This works great if you immerse yourself in their books and ideas so you get a sense of what they would say.

For example, I have a mental Board of Directors for the following activities:

Copywriting - (Gary Bencivenga, John Caples, Claude Hopkins, Victor Schwab, Joseph Sugarman, John Carlton, Gary Halbert, Gene Schwartz, Jay Abraham)

Internet Marketing - (Ken McCarthy, Perry Marshall, Jeff Walker, John Reese, Eben Pagan, Rich Schefren, etc).

Motivation - (Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, Les Brown, etc)

I've become so immersed in their materials that I can get a sense of how they'd respond to my challenge.

I use BOTH physical masterminds and mental masterminds and both have their uses.

I hope this distinction is useful.

Best wishes,

Shaun

Hey Eben,

Great new video. What I would like to see is a community that brings together master mind groups from around the world. not another forum, but something that allows users from all around the world to sign up in specific areas of expertise. So for example I would like to sign up to this mastermind community and find an expert PHP programmer, I am a designer and internet marketer so that would be an asset to the team. It means I wouldn't have to outsource my work to India or somewhere else.

Just a thought.

Eben,

Extreme over delivering!

For those of you that may read this and are not at the Get Altitude Event, Eben did this video clip AFTER delivering over 8 - 10 solid hours of content. This was just from Monday.

After Day 2 today – Tuesday, yet another 8 – 10 content rich hours. We still have Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday left to go.

All of the information being delivered is 100% useable and can be implemented immediately for ANY business you have. Monetization and ROI at its finest. There are many business owners in the audience that can’t believe how powerful this event has been in only two days.

There are also many high-level, recognizable, experts, marketers and gurus in the audience taking just as many notes, and they already have highly successful multi-million dollar businesses.

Too many things to list for my own traffic business, however the first two days are worth an immediate $50k - $100k before the 2007 year is even over.

Eben, sincere thanks to you and all of your Team Leaders and Team Members that have made Get Altitude happen on such a professional and high quality level.

Looking forward to the rest of the event.

A "Master Mind Group" headed up by you would be quite attractive for the purpose of mentoring people to be successful with their businesses.

As the first comment states, your initial videos, which I am sure are generating fabulous interest, have been very helpful.

I would like to see a nuts and bolts approach however. I am in a business that does not immediately engender some of the savvy that you and programs such as the 30 Day Challenge provide. I find your instruction insightful. However, I also see that there is a great deal of assumed knowledge. Traditionally my industry is a brick and mortar, hope for walk by traffic for business.

I am resourceful, and have found many of the resources I need, however I find myself feeling like I am reinventing the wheel too.

In closing, a team of pro mentors that could take someone from the ground up, on the way creating milestone objectives and providing a by-the-numbers process would be very valuable.

Thanks,

You know, listening to people who claim to know what they are doing but have never even done it before?

Having an expert like you to just point us in the right direction would be awesome even if it was just a really quick, short coaching session on tips to get started the CORRECT WAY.

Eben,

I'm where you were at 5 years ago with DD... I have a great, well developed idea worth millions but financially... just over broke. I am determined to make my idea succeed, but paying "masterminds" is just not in the budget.

What I would be interested in would be a “collaborative mastermind group” where we can trade services, offer services or find potential business partners.

For instance, I am a mastermind in some areas such as "developing rough ideas into a business", designing software systems, designing SEO optimized websites and getting programming done at 20 cents on the dollar… these are skills that many need.

On the other side of the equation, I am looking for a great copywriter to join with me to complete my core entrepreneurial team.

If you like the idea of a “collaborative mastermind group”, I would like to freely give you some ideas on how to turn the idea into a profit center. Just ask.

Thanks for all the free help! – Ron

P.S. After listening to one of your videos, I applied one of your ideas to name my upcoming company… GrowGreatGreen.com… Thanks!!!

Yes, mastermind is great concept. I am trying to build my mastermind group. I wroted 2-3 adverts, that I am looking for business people who would like to ehchange conceptS, ideas, working systemS and so on, but no one responded. Now I am trying to join CEO's club.

I know which people I want in my mastermind, but how to motivate them? Paying for consultation? Pay when I get something usefull?

I would like to buy coaching, but You in US, I am in Europe. :(

Ditto what Mike says, in spades.

"Actionable Specifics" are what you provide, and this was no exception to the many elements of building a true business.

The reason(s) I am not at your event are two-fold; 1. No Business (though this video in particular has finally clearly identified why that is AND how to fix it), and 2. as a bi-product of # 1.; Funding vastly "insufficient" to pay to attend.

Item 1. though is the root cause. In two plus years I have been unable to clearly identify what has been "the problem". You succinctly took the vagueness out of the equation by breaking "it" into the multiple elements that actually comprise 'the problem'.

It hasn't been a singular element (as most tend to approach such things), but rather it it a combination of things that has expressed itself as a general blockage. Your video has provided an insight that will (at last) allow me to break through this.

Thank you, Eben.

Please consider structuring a Master Mind group that I & others can participate in.

Best Regards,

Rick

I think the main challenge for us "like minded people" is to get rid of short sighted people, and get to build a mastermind group to support your project.
Personnaly I've found that it's quite easy to meet interesting people, as my project is unusual and drives people's attention easilly (see it for yourself on my website).
However, I need to go to the next level because my skill level is now much higher, and not in balance with my network anymore.

How do you, Eben, make the difference between the hundreeds of dreamers contacting you, and the really like minded ?

I think I know the answer, and obviously you do too, so I'm confident you'll come back to me.
I'd like to share my experience, and my unique side of view will probably allow you to look at your ideas in a new perspective. You've already played a part in my journey.
Anyway thanks for all

I completely agree with Mikes comment - these videos are very valuable.

I very much like your marketing style.

I've attended an "Entrepreneur Mentoring" program earlier this year with another Business Genius I greatly admire. Well, until then, I've NEVER heard of master mind groups. This particular AMAZING program was split into 2, 4 day sessions 90 days apart. after the first 4 day session we all walked away with master mind groups from that training. so, my group had 4 people in it & we all sat in on a conference call once a week. In between that time, we emailed or called each other one-on-one for added coaching & support. the transformation of what was accomplished over that 90 days was utterly amazing! we all made great strides & it was through the support & accountability of our own team members. I can't say enough good stuff about master minding!!!!
Eban, thanks for sharing the video. I am amazed how many super intelligent, highly successful people have not heard of master mind groups.

A coaching program would have so much potential for new starters in business world.

But how much will it cost? If someone is starting fresh, it means that he probably won't have tens of thousands of dollars to put into a coaching system.

I hope this works out well, as Eben is giving great value to all, since ASF days.

I'm very excited about the idea and count me in too. Your presence so far gave me the incentive to keep going and started feeling excited about what I do, instead of being disappointed and worn out.

Master mind groups are a great idea and have been around for a long time. I would like to generate one that has members that are not in my same program as competition within the same program can be a problem.

You said you spend 5 million in your master mind group, this put me off. I just am not in that league. If I was making that kind of money to be able to spend 5 million on the group that would be great.

Just starting out, what should be focused on with laser point focusing?

Anonymous said...

Absolutely - I've spent a year learning this stuff at full speed, am now having trouble finding people with enough specialised knowledge to help me crack the situations I need to crack right now. I know there are masses of people out there, just not in my social group. Be terrific to meet people at a similar level.

Eban
There is no question about it, you have to start a training program. You have so much to offer. I will even lend you my conference room (seats 500 do you think it will be big enough)?!

Dont hesitate just do it and let us know when you start, but dont forget us people across the pond when it comes to arranging the time.

Hi Eban-I have got to saturation point with mentor overload as I have searched for a nugget of advice and leadership, then as I felt like giving up because of too much info and pressure you have endorsed an idea I had thought of previously. Hi Eben,

I think a lot of newbie people would feel very intimidated in creating their own mastermind group, just because it’s the concept of contacting someone who appears to be at a much, much higher level than they are now.

In the 'real world' so to say 99% of people wouldn’t walk up to the big boss on their first day and ask his advice.

In the internet marketing community it may seem the same on the outside but it definitely isn’t.

I was a complete newbie until a few months ago, I contacted a marketer whose product I had purchased and told him that I thought it was something that every newbie marketer, should have in their own 'tools' locker.

This was because I genuinely believe it, to cut a long story short we built up a relationship and I conducted an interview with him that he used as a feeder for his latest product which he launched in July.

I now have my own small list of subscribers because of taking that action.

I arranged to meet the marketer at an event this past weekend and I have come away from that with the offer of doing some work from a real big name in the Internet Marketing community as well as forging relationships with many other people.

If I had not written that first email then nothing would have changed.

Now I have a lot to look forward to, so I would urge people to do exactly as you suggest in the video, and also join the group you are trying to gather together.

Doing both could well be the biggest and best decisions they ever make.

Hi Eben,

Thins is Alcides we met at RJ’s event not long ago.

I like the idea of creating a Master Mind.

I have tried to create one for some time but here in Australia I find myself isolated and broke.

Perhaps not just a mastermind team or group but a mastermind culture would make developments faster and more dynamic were MM teams would network among each other.

In a stream lined MM network I can imagine things happening so fast, things that seemed impossible before it would be like doing a retro modernist job on ford.

It would be great if some how profits derived from projects developed, assisted and supported trough a MM. benefited the members that were most useful say a percentage of profits divided among the many. That way creative types could devote to learning and developing them selves in order to be of greater use to others and so profiting in their assistance. Thus businesses developed trough the MM are kind of co-owned.
The network of MM then becomes kind of like an enterprise in it self were every one is profiting from the whole.

This idea just occurred to me from what you said I hope its interesting.

Thank you for the videos.

The timing of this message is rather spooky. I was just having this same discussion with my partner yesterday as we discussed our 2 yr old "startup" business and how much energy does come from organized collaboration. There are too many moving parts in the machine. And as much as we want to think we can do it all, it is just impossible to be effective without the "mastermind" technique.

I have split my career of 25 years between sales and IT which makes me very dangerous... to my self that is. I, like many others in this business, given the slightest amount of stimulation from a cd or seminar, can, within minutes come up with enough great ideas to last the next year. The problem is exactly what you said execution. And try as we might, we cannot do it all, which leads to more frustration because you knew it was a good idea.

I get inspired by your videos. But have problems implementing the items I need to do. Yes, I can make (and did) a list of what the missing links are in my business, but I don't know the people who can help (First name that comes to mind is YOU, and then Mike Filsame -- but I don't know you).
And sure, I'd love to be part of a mastermind group with you, teaching me how to make a profitable web site, but (and I don't want to sound negative or bring any negativity into this thought -- but today is a tough day) I don't have the financial recsources that I think you would request. So where does someone like me go from here? Would you create a mastermind group (applicants selected by audition or application) where you would invest your time for a percentage of the success? You seem so great and knowlegeable, so if you could help our idea become a success -- and why wouldn't you be able to do that for ideas you deem worthy, would you defray any costs but reap part of the reward? Just a thought. Thanks.

First of all Eben, thank-you for all the great info you provide!! As for the group, I think it is a greak idea. It is like Robert Kiyosaki says; if you want to be successful, you have to surround yourself with people smarter than yourself, people who are experts at all the different aspects of your business. If you are the smartest person in your business, than your business is in trouble.

We all need a strong support group, no matter what level we are at with our business! It is our support groups that allow us to expand and grow.

I look forward to seeing this take life, and becoming a part of it!

“You are a missing out on millions by not sharing with others what you do…”

We also know that if you look at the biggest names in Internet marketing today they all “belong to a group” they work and share together, the best minds and the best ideas, it is as if it were inevitable that they were going to succeed… as if it were impossible to fail.

Eben,

The idea of MasterMind groups is nothing new. I not only agree with you that it is probably one of the best ways to keep yourself moving forward towards your goals, but that a GetAltitude MasterMind group would appeal to me even though I did not have the chance to attend your event this time around.

I took to heart the words of Tony Robbins at one of his Mastery University events I attended, where he stated: The quality of your life is a direct reflection of the expectations of your peer group.

What this means to me, specifically, is that a MasterMind group does not only complement your skills set, but it challenges you to "keep up". There is a lot of power in the 1+1=3 model, but there's even more power in making public commitments to grow, change or endure.

Keep at it.

You and I both know the secret code that is evident from the video you created. Reaching out to people can be a problem. They are too busy with their own projects and own lives. They really do not care

I am not the point in my life where I am now handicapped and stuck in a situation where I am alone 300 days a year and without a computer I would be utterly alone.

I have an engineered product a web site but very little money and people have no faith, they are not willing to take a chance. They want to see the money regardless if you meet the requirement of utility product pice and service which is the requirement for a software application.

If I may, I would like to say that getting brilliant people to help you (especially those who are already quite wealthy and famous) is just not all that easy. They always want massive amounts of money, upfront, and expect me to totally trust them, when I don't really even know them. Too many scams are out there, and what happens is they usually give you a webpage, and a lot of things to read, but they don't really help those of us who are completely new to this. Too many times, I've been burned. I would LOVE to have someone who had the ability and patience to teach me about online marketing, but I am brand new to it, and need one on one guidance. I have a book that I am planning to publish within a few months, and I'd like to set up my own site for sales and coaching. What I end up getting, when I ask, is a lot of terminology that is new to me, and no real details. For instance, in your video, you talked about knowing how to push three keys to center a photo. That is exactly the type of coaching I need. I'm a fast learner and a willing student, but I don't know who to trust and where to turn. The people I would want to help me are generally too busy with their own lifestyles, and, as I said earlier, they want a great deal of money upfront. I got an email today saying one guy would let me in on his mastermind group meeting for $25,000! That is for one hour!! I'm desperately searching for some guidance in this, but need something far more reasonably priced and someone with a lot of patience to teach a beginner. I've tried some affiliate marketing, but the information I get doesn't help. Too technical. I don't know what I'm doing, and I've only made $25 in two weeks. I'm trying to read the information they sent, but it is too far above my head to help. I need a sort of "Internet Marketing for Dummies" type of help. I would like to earn a minimum of $5000 per month, with an expectation of taking that to well over six figures after a year. I know there is a huge market in Internet sales, but getting started takes a lot of understanding about webpages. If you did decide to do this, I would hope you would put the information into various levels--beginner, intermediate, advanced. Also, it would be great if it could be affordable for someone new to this. Once my business is up and running, I might be able to afford to pay more for the help, but not initially. Just setting up the webpage is a big investment expense for a beginner. I get emails, daily, saying I need to buy into this and that, and I don't really know which ones are truly in my best interest. I've just done the best I can, but it isn't anywhere like what I thought it would be. Thanks for sharing this and allowing me to express myself. I wish you well.

Eben, I can't agree more. The idea of using the power of the group, and the goodwill / resources of your peers has served me wellin the past, and will in the future.

Here is a suggestion, I read in a previous post that someone talked about "participation levels" and I think it fits in with another one of your concepts "Moving the free line".

Build a free network app where people can list what they are intested in "Masterminding" about so they can sort themselves into grops, provide an easy platform for doing that remotely online.

You could look at adding value with videos / audios to the free platform and make Altitude available from there.

here are some out there who would be VERY interested in "High end" Masterminding, say a weekend in Bora Bora with other successful business owners with a guest writer of a best selling book in attendance you could charge say 10k (if the group was right, you could cerainly count me in!) :-)

One other thing, I am at altitude this week, and your advice on getting to know your market inspired a survey on monday, and a call last night (I had to play "hookey" from the after lunch sessions) what I learned from the survey, we never would have guessed and we were able to launch the RIGHT product and do $14,200 in sales. Hi Eben.

Yes I would definitely be interested. In the past high profile mentors have sold coaching/mentor programs and rarely is there an ability to speak directly to the mentor/mastermind group member who is the expert.

If we could have direct access I would be prepared to pay a significant fee for the privilege.

Hey Eben,

Hi Eben

I was just thinking of something like this - in other words we are working on doing some press releases for a speaking event with motivational speaker Les Brown and a successful home business entrepreneur and while I can write them - I simply don't have the time (but have to make the time).

So yes - count me in!

hi...i totally agree with what daniel shaw and william m have to say - I am in India, have some great ideas up my sleeve but dont knw how to go about them. I m thinking of making business plans and going to VCs but tats not as easy as it sounds....at this stage, i cant dream of attending seminars like coming to the US to attend your seminar....heck i dont even have the kind of money to pay for the fees if you convert it in indian currency....but i know for sure that my ideas have merit and will have a ready audience...its just tat its too big....i m thinking big but i dont know how to execute it..and the truoble is it wont work if it aint big...perhaps there can be some mechanism by which u can help budding entrepreneurs like me ...may b a % of sales once the thing takes off ? i dont know, plz think over it but i am interested as hell in what you have to offer...not just the mastermind group but even the whole altitude program....but then money is a big factor. cheers and think about us,...i m sure there is an opportunity here as well...

Hey Eben, I would love for you to create a coaching/mastermind group seminar! Anything you've got new is always so edifying, Thanks.

I am definetely interested... I would just like to see something that is at the point of being the next step in the ladder.

Your free videos are the entry-point, your altitude training is the next step.

I would like to see something in between those two. Something much much more affordable... just above the free-line.

Maybe some sort of monthly coaching program, or an online service where can come together.

I know you already have the vision.

The only suggestion I want to give is that on the pricing. I think it would be awesome to have this service that would be a cheap entry point into the ladder, before you upgrade people to altitude training (and deeper into the line).

Mastermind Groups - though not a new concept - are crucial to all successful endeavors!

We often think of a Mastermind as a MasterFIND! Finding experts in different complimentary fields. Now EXPAND that... though business is competative, we can learn much from others within our own fields.

I've found that by having what could be considered "competitors" come together to share - everyone gains. There's enough biz out there for us all to make plenty. I've used this strategy in a highly competative field - and ALL our businesses benefited!

Love your stuff, Eben!

Hi Dave

I had taken the A, Robins CD corse in 1992, I took a company from 100,000 to 14.5 Million. So what your getting in to works. I would love doing that again for a new company. Just have not found the vehicle to do that again.

Hmmm...I picked "web pages and design" and came up with one name for my mastermind group (the other two names will come later).
The list of areas or "barriers" (so to speak)caused me to realize I need a "mini mastermind" group to address each issue.
Something to think about...hmmmm...

Yes, Eben. I've actually been trying to get 2 separate mastermind groups together, but quite honestly, I've been unsuccessful at it.

I do have one in an offline business, and I'm happy that we're a diverse team, with common goals and a common vision. We have tried so many different things for almost 18 months now, and we have yet to come up with any significant results. We're learning a lot, albeit slow, and haven't given up.

In the online world, I am finding it more difficult (my offline partners are not involved). It isn't easy finding people who have the same business interests, philosophy, and ethics. I find that most everyone online are pursuing "get rich quick" systems, peddling "how to make money" products/services.

Admittedly, there are a few programs that are very effective/valuable; e.g. Altitude, but they are very rare.

Likewise, these quality programs are expensive as well...out of reach for most beginning marketers; e.g. Altitude.

So to sum it up, there must be a process to qualify the members of such a group; to ensure common business interests, philosophy and ethics. Needless to say, breaking it up into smaller subgroups is a practical way to implement this.

Thanks for all your wisdom.

It's an interesting idea. I read concept of mastermind in "Think and grow rich" but I think of actualy showing a video, even censored one, that can show how people in a real mastermind cooperate, would be very beneficial. Also concerning your other products as ... I would like to se a guide (possibly video guide) to schmoozing. And I do apreciate your effort although I do not intend of becoming an entrepreneur soon.

Crazy!

Aside from the fact that I think your the smartest person in the world, I would for-sure be interested in a Master-Mind group.

I have mastered certain aspects of my own business because I allowed myself to be immersed in the teachings, leadership, and mind-set of heavy-weights like Jay Kubassek, Mike Dillard, Yanik Silver, and "David D" of course.

Count me in for that your master-mind idea.

I love your idea but then i dont have the kind of resources/money to come all the way to US to attend your seminar or even pay for your seminar if you convert the fees in Indian currency...But i still have faith in my ideas..and no they r not internet related -
what can one do in such circumstances? how can you help people like me who are far away with very limited resources but big dreams and big motivation....

another problem is though i m highly motivated i fail miserably on execution....i would LOVE to get help from you but how can it be made affordable? can we look at a % of sales as a way to cut costs? plz advise and keep me posted...I sent a blog sometime back but for some reason it has not been posted...plz let it publish this time...

I think in principal its a good way forward and i know it works from the offline world however
It seems after a few years of working on line that it would take a major attitude change.
Why say this you may ask :-)
well it seems that the majority of
highly rated inet bods are more of a mind that they will allow you into their world provided your already rich and can pay them serious cash to be connected to them present company excluded :-)
Whilst i fully recognise that in certain instances they are well worth it they are outside the reach of the majority of their global marketplace either through time zone differences or finances.
In the offline world you vist business strtup agencies or the bank manager for general advice or the chamber of commerce for example
because they see the value in long term relationships.
I have just joined a new forum which as been added to a established long term forum (i havn't named it just in case but i think it looks like the start of a good way forward.
After all success is a journey but you need good boots hahah
Take care
and thank you Eben

Hey Eben,

I was trying to post this comment yesterday and I don't know if it worked. But here's basically what I said:

I know that its very important to have this mastermind group. I wanted to know if you could share some insights about how to deliver value to these people. Say I was just starting out.

How did you establish relationships with people like Dean Jackson, John Reese, Alex M., Jay Abraham, Rick H., and Brent. And more importantly how did you go beyond just a business relationship and make a real friendship?

-M

Anonymous said...

Of Course! If someone is as successful as Eben and thinks 'outside the box', wants to share his knowledge and insight, duh..........
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.
It would be great to be able to have live chats with specific questions or a webinar, so there was some interaction, as well as just some free tidbits.

I would be interested in joining your mastermind group with your people.

Mr. Pagan,
Thanks again for your great insightful wisdom. What would work best for me is a building block format where you might have 10 categories. Number one being product(s) concept to 10 being site testing including what the numbers mean. That way when you have an idea you want to share you can say today I am talking about how to improve Category 2(lets say that is website design). This will allow me to build a complete system that we can then refine as new ideas or procedures come along.
thanks again

Eben,
Your videos are certainly outstanding. Let me approach your mastermind coaching idea from a different angle.

It's important to remember where you came from...can you recall when you were first starting out, and you were hungry both literally and business wise?

While I and many like me would enjoy and profit from your Get Altitude conference - $10k is just not there and whatever money is there needs to be strategically used for marketing and getting the business launched well. When I for instance wrote down my 3 master mind dream team, 2 were so completely unreachable as to be laughable at the moment. So should I mortgage my house and throw 25K at them now, or use that money and get started with the plan of getting those guys later when the cash flow is better?

Allow me a brief rant (more in general than to you Eben): With all due respect, I think that the "gurus" of the marketing world forget that they too were at one point starting out, and they were hungry, tired and a bit scared at what would happen - they didn't have large amounts of money to throw at problems. But now when they have conquered many obstacles and made a name for themselves and genuinely succeeded, and they have made themselves available to help others, their advice to those of us starting out is to throw money at it. Buy their software, their program, etc.

I've spent some time working in the "inner city" - now there is a group of folks that could use some assistance to get ahead. But they need incremental, hands on, advice - that costs little. Many of them are already motivated, they don't need to be reminded how cool it will be to have a big home, great car, luxurious vacations - they understand that part. They need to know what the pieces are to get started and to strongly move a business forward and the advice and the encouragement to follow through. Then when they have done well, they too can turn around and help someone similar with the same simple but wise approach.

Don't get me wrong, investing in yourself and your business is critical and the willingness to sacrifice is foremost, but what many of us would love to have access to is a mastermind group that is truly accessible - available. Perhaps they are not the current best of best marketers, but they have the pragmatic and practical skills to get many of us who are "close to getting there", but just need a bit of advice, and coaching. Not more rah, rah, just genuine encouragement wrapped around skilled and sage advice.

I've been told that making a 2nd million dollars from your first million is relatively simple - just copy and paste or rinse and repeat. But what about taking $1.00 and multiplying it into 10K, and then 100K and then a million? That's where many of us are.

So my challenge to your team is to set up a lower end mastermind team that can get in and get dirty with those who know they need help but also know that a big conference with large fees is not the most prudent use of resources at the moment. Perhaps a requirement for being in the group is that they have to agree to assist others with the same info/skill set.

Just a thought - thanks again for your videos!

I think that some sort of coaching/feedback (and forth) would be a great idea. It's a big world out there, easy to wander off into unproductive directions.

I would prefer a simple segmented group of folks who get it.

The segmented list would allow folks to post their area of expertise and the area where they need assistance.

A simple modular social network will allow the community to interact with each other while serving as an organic system for you to market to an audience that is already listening.

Hello, count me in if you develope a mastermind educational product. My request would be that the training start with the A, B, C's I mean the very beginning for any newbie. The internet is a marvelous place where people can grow and develope. The problem as I see it, is there is a lot of junk out there. I haven't found a true beginners course yet. The courses out there all start as if the student already has a website, product and the knowledge to get it published. Beginners have great ideas and are the big spenders of How To products, however, they easily get misled to purchase anything and everything, then dicouragement sets in. I would prefer a Basic course that graduates to Intermediate and on to Advanced. This way the beginners are truely following for the long term success. Mastermind groups are great if you are at the same level as the group as a whole, and when you are not, they tend to bypass your needs and suddenly you are an outcast. Please consider the other millions of new entreprneurs in early developement and a major part of the picture. They still have money to circulate. They are the most in need. They are the most loyale and responsive. Just a few of m y thoughts.

yogiwan said...

Very interesting concept - not the first time that is has been stated or suggested however. The issues is in the action as it is with most things.

Looking at the comments so far, you have a lot of active interest from what seems like people who are somewhat experienced in online business or MLM. The interesting challenge for many (myself included) is in the start up phase -- knowing who could be in a mastermind group or even what things should be included for consideration. Your inference to start with the biggest roadblock is good -- prioritization for many is a difficult thing to keep in the forefront of actions especially when there is so many things to deal with in starting.

So my comments to your question is a master mind group would be beneficial but it would be difficult for newbies to determine the value of such a group (pricing issue). This could be orgainized in multiple levels where a collaborative group could deal with the easier "how to" question that arise. A second level with more experienced folks could deal with "why do this" kind of issues that come up as the first transactions are completed. Then a third level with even more experienced participants, could deal with the questions of how to expand the business opportunities or to investigate emerging opportunities. This leveling would prevent those dealing with very sophisticated issues from having to wade through easy to answer questions and would prevent the entry level folks from becoming confused by the language of the experienced participants.

Seems like something collaborative web tools could support along with the blogs and video suggestions you already have in place.

awesome idea!

i'm in.. lemme know when you're starting
such a mastermind group..

but one thing Eben.. have different LEVELS of mastermind groups..

like one for absolute newbies.. who wanna know what an html editor is..

and one for people who have achieved a level of success and know things around..

and one that is a totally high level one for people who're making multiple millions a year..

it'll help everyone to be mastermind with people of the same level and grow together..

otherwise newbies will be getting overhelmed with outsourcing/hiring stuff..

and experianced ppl will have to wade through pages of questions on how to ftp a website..

just a personal opinion.. i think it makes more sense with levels..

anyways.. great idea.. one that i've already implemented and am seeing the results from..

but would love be in your group!

keep rockin'!
